What would your Valentine fancy this February 14th?
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we have been busy finding our favourite gifts for him and her. Worry not, let us play cupid as we’ve taken the stress out of finding THE present this year. Boyfriends, fiancés, husbands, wives, girlfriends, mothers, best friends we all can get a little stuck when looking for that perfect something for that perfect someone. Now, I am more than happy with the old faithful chocolates, flowers, and wine, or a lie in! But if you want to avoid panic buying a heart-shaped balloon that will spend months slowly deflating then check out our list below for gifts that say, “I love you”.
We’ve got brilliant ideas for all budgets, so making loved ones feel special this Valentine’s Day needn’t cost the earth.
For both of you, I would choose to get romantic with Posterhaste.
Valentine’s is about celebrating love and fond memories so why not frame the feeling with a fully personalised Heart Star Map. These feature a map of the constellations in the night sky at your chosen moment in time, in the shape of a heart for the ultimate romantic touch. You can choose the colour, frame, size and accompanying text so there is a lot of versatility in this gift. With prices starting from £20 this is a unique gift to commemorate a first meeting, a first dance, or first home or another special occasion. I was really impressed by the quality of this piece and am keen to add more to the collection!
For the wife who is feeling tired and needs a loving boost, I would choose BetterYou.
A pioneering natural health company specialising in the supplementation of the key nutrients lost through our dramatically changing diet and lifestyle their Magnesium Sleep Lotion (RRP £9.95) is a top pick and even have 25% discount off the range on the website. Now, this may seem like rather an every day, or dull medical gift for Valentine’s but don’t be fooled, BetterYou’s Magnesium products are perfect to point your loved one on the path towards relaxation. Because health matters, this is ideal for him or her. For example, taking a Magnesium-rich bath is a gentle way to supplement and effectively relieving tension, aiding restful sleep and I have found it amazing for fending off migraines! I feel like there should be a quip about you having no excuse to say you have a headache now…but this is a family blog.
For the couple who love romantic bubbles, I would choose ProCook.
Now it is common to buy a nice cold bottle of Champagne for special occasions but who else often finds themselves drinking out of Mitch ached wine glasses or the occasional coffee mug (shame on me)? Why not grab these classic ProCook angled crystal champagne glasses presented in a set of four the bargain sale price of £19! Add a touch of elegance and toast each other! They are perfect if you’re planning a romantic Valentine’s night in. In the off chance you do not manage to finish the bottle (it is a school night after all) then the ProCook Wine Saver ensures your drink stays fresh to finish on the weekend. Or the next night.
For the man that forgets, I would choose Derwent.
He doesn’t forget Valentine’s Day of course. But perhaps your husband is a lover of lists and joined the popular world of bullet journaling? If yes, then pick up a Derwent A5 Bullet Journal Set for £29.99. Offering a notebook, diary, to-do list, and sketchbook all in one; inject some creativity into your organiser. Complete with subtle dots on each page to help frame lists, graphs and doodles the black-bound book is both practical and stylish. Water-based Graphik fine liner pens are the perfect companion for weaving intricate designs, why don’t you write a little note to him on the front page!
For the lady that loves sweet kisses and cocktails, I would choose Chambord.
Now we love a good glass of wine and don’t want to break with tradition, but why not indulge in a taste of luxurious French black raspberry liqueur this Valentine’s? Perfect to enjoy in a host of everyone’s favourite cocktails, why not have a night in with your mates? Gather up the girls with catch up TV and a tall glass with a measure of gin, Chambord, lemon, ice and soda water, mixing things up with a Chambord Collins! Chambord’s limited edition 20cl bottle, which comes packaged in a sumptuous purple and raspberry box, makes the perfect gift to transform everyday drinks into something more memorable, any day of the week. We also love the tagline, eat as many raspberries as you like, but please always drink Chambord responsibly. It is available from all major supermarkets throughout the UK for £8.00 RRP (or £6.00 in Tesco!)
For the classic couple, I would choose the Ned Pinot Rose.
For the pair that has young children, that choose company over gifts who fancy an unfussy evening and a good bottle of wine. Light on the palate this New Zealand tipple from the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough is the perfect choice with its crisp taste and a hint of watermelon flavour. Decently priced I would suggest having a couple of bottles chilling in the fridge. A very easy drink the Ned gets the nod of approval from us!
For that special someone, you need personalisation from I just love it.
Its all about the beard nowadays, as is male grooming. Now you can easily pop to the supermarket and grab yourself a moisturiser, but a better option would be to grab a Personalised Beard Grooming Kit to maintain the luscious locks on your face. The kit makes the perfect present as the recipient’s name is printed on the generously-sized, stylishly monochrome padded canvas bag. Inside you’ll find a bottle of beard shampoo, as well as a 2-in-1 bottle of conditioner and face moisturiser. Once you’re all washed and fresh, combed, trimmed, finish off your face with the non-greasy beard oil. The packaging is simple and the products are made from the finest botanicals, suitable for vegans, with a subtle masculine fragrance. At £ 24.99 this is the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day (or birthdays, Christmas etc).
For the man that loves a dress shirt, we would choose Personally Presented.
The perfect gift for him, why not invest in some quality cufflinks set on swivel clasp base for easy shirt sleeve attachment. Do you have a meal booked too? We love that the Fresh Collection lets you create light and airy fragrances with fresh florals and marine-inspired scents.
For the couple that loves a strong cup of coffee, I would choose independent coffee roasters Extract.
As well as socks one thing I will never tire of being gifted is a good Tea or Coffee. They are drank daily and very much enjoyed in our house. Coffee lovers will relish the chance to select their own single origin Coffees from the artisans at Extract Coffee Roasters. Our favourite is the Expresso with sweet notes of dark chocolate, fruit loaf & caramel that softens perfectly with warm soy milk for that perfect AHHH moment on these cold winter mornings.
For the husband who is just a big kid, I would choose Skates.
It’s not just children who enjoy getting from A to B on these stylish scooters. Whether stunt scooting for pleasure or for the morning commute the Xootz Large Wheeled Scooter is a bargain at £49.95. Suitable for ages 6 and over (or 60), it is lightweight at 3.6 kg, folds for storage or transport (with a handy back strap), has a rear footbrake, kickstand, adjustable handlebars – 91 to 100cm and a smooth ride. For the girl with the long hair, I would choose Phil Smith.
Perhaps you pay for her to go to the hairdressers, but if you are like me and struggle for time an equally appealing gift would be a gorgeous bundle of haircare goodies from the Total Treat range.
