Introducing Protest clothing, perfect for outdoors.
Design led sportswear company Protest have been producing bright, stylish, seasonally suitable clothing since 1993. Founded in Holland, Protest blend the hottest street influences with high performance sportswear and accessories. Whilst their heritage is as a boardwear brand (with very popular men’s ski jackets) Protest also deliver high quality, fashionable and functional full lines of streetwear at an affordable price. You do not have to spend all your time at the beach or on a board to enjoy the fashion. We chose a couple of statement pieces perfect for the Autumn Winter collection which features a Men’s and Women’s, as well as a Boys and Girls line. Protest is a very accessible brand, and one you should consider for the cold weather for clothing guaranteed to keep you warm and dry!
Protest clothing’s sustainable responsibility.
Protest clothing is geared towards longevity, transported by sea to reduce the carbon footprint. For their GeoGreen Label they use fabrics which are produced with the least possible impact on the environment. They use recycled yarn and polyester fibres made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles, sustainable bamboo, and organic cotton. Protest use oeko-Tex® standard 100. Animal welfare is important, so Protest use alternatives to real duck down and do without fur and angora wool.
#Protest Showgirl Parka RRP £97.99 (SALE price).
Coats rank as one of the bigger-ticket investment purchases for Winter. The versatile Showgirl Parka has been a game changer for me. The only jacket you will need this season it fuses street trends with functional clothing. Always start with basics when outerwear buying and ensure your wardrobe includes an all-rounder coat that will get a lot of mileage. Consider can you wear it on multiple occasions like the school run, on wet woodland walks etc?
For everyday style, Black will always work, as will the classic and simple Parka design. The material has a suede look and super soft feel that is high quality and durable. A key quality of a good parka coat is warmth. As part of the Geotech series, this jacket has 10.000 mm water resistance ensuring it is breathable while also being waterproof and windproof.
The hood is lined with teddy fur and the whole coat is padded but without being heavy or uncomfortable. Perfect for when there is a nip in the air. The side pockets are zippered for practicality. The longer length is flattering, functional and the Parka is fitted but not tight to layer up underneath.
Easily worn over a jumper, and paired with boots, the Showgirl Parka will see you through the season.
As well as washing instructions, the Protest website shows icons that give additional information about the product which I love. For this coat Protest explains it has a fixed hood, the length is longer than average for warmth, it’s a regular fit, and lets the buyer know how waterproof the garment is. Size wise I am 8-10 and bought a S/36 which is true to size. Why not go and check out the new collection of Protest women’s Jackets.
#Protest Nxg Jimbu Zip up.
Stripes are an exceedingly popular, almost iconic pattern in clothing.
NXG by Protest is the quality streetwear collection, a combination of edgy street looks and superior fabrics and detailing. Retailing for £69.99 the heavy weight fleece has a stripe that is knitted instead of printed to ensure no fading. Both the fit and the length are regular with plenty of room in the sleeve etc. To elevate the look of the hoodie from casual the zip runs down the side of the garment instead of the middle.
The pull cords are a thick woven fabric that give the top a nautical feel. Fabric at the wrists and the bottom hem is ribbed which mean the jumper retains heat and fits like a glove. The inner lining is so soft I do not want to take the hoodie off. It is great to pair with jeans and simple tee. The men’s ski fleeces are equally well designed.
As an added bonus protest offers Free shipping and 2 working day delivery time.
#Protest Stella Leopard print earmuffs.
I am a big winter season accessory fan! Big scarves are one of my life loves. For £12.99 these fab on trend earmuffs are the perfect alternative to a hat. Being design clever the headband is adjustable so you can get the right fit. I love that they keep your ears warm and don’t mess up your hair. A perfect finish to any winter outfit they fit comfortable and I will never get them back as my daughter has stolen them. The price is also really reasonable.
This season latest Protest collection trends range from neon with piping details, plaids and checks, lines paired with block colours giving an eighties vibe; black, white and gold in chains and Leopard print partnered with pink to bring out your wild side! My favourite item is the softshell black and white pinstripe ski trousers.
Overall, I am really impressed with Protest as a brand considering the materials, zippers, stitching, fabrics, textures, finishes, and how the garments wash.
