5 Tips For Choosing Wedding Gifts That A Bride & Groom REALLY Want With @Prezzybox

by Author: Jade Lloyd

What’s the secret to truly special wedding gifts?

Now let’s be honest, there is not really a wedding ‘season’. Once you hit the age of thirty your yearly calendar is likely to be taken up with wedding ceremonies and receptions, uncertainties over outfit choices and what to buy for the happy couple. Mini bubbles. The steady flow of knot tying celebrations pose difficulty in choosing the ‘perfect’ gift for the newlyweds-to-be and not breaking the budget in doing so. There is no written wedding gift etiquette, of course we all want to be generous but how much do you spend? Will they love or hate a homemade gift? Would cash be a boring but more practical option? These are questions that niggle our worrisome brains, followed by the hope for a well-stocked pudding table.

If you’re lucky you will find your presence but not your presents will be scrawled on your invite. Some couples ask for a donation to the honeymoon, a courteous bride and groom will politely offer some suggestions. Some people will just pop to Argos grab a toaster and voila.

The safest option? Stick to the registry list.

Hopefully the couple will have spent time making some consciences picks and have a range of items with a range of prices. Registry items are merely suggestions, not obligations. These are items they want. If there are more expensive presents on the list, luxury items that the future Mr and Mrs can’t afford then why not club together with other guests? If you don’t know the couple well the list is a safe option. But, what happens if the the only items left when you get to it are a £200 set of solid gold pans or a £3 flannel with nothing in between?

As a bride to be what do I ask for?

Present finder gift company Prezzybox has teamed up with hundreds of brands to bring you options for everything you was a couple could possible want. If you decide to purchase something else, it’s a good idea to check out the registry to gauge the couple’s style.

Go unique.

Personalised wedding gifts are special because they are designed for the couple. What better way to show you care than with a self-designed gift featuring the couples shared surname, or the day they got married, or met?

All about them.

Consider whether the couple are outdoorsy types, music lovers or foodies. What are their hobbies and interests? For adventurers why not buy experience gifts or camping gear. Or prints by favourite artists, magazine subscriptions, or hardbound books so they’ll last at least as long as the marriage. Think outside the box.

Home is where the heart is.

Nowadays with couples living together in Habitat-furnished-sin there is not such a need to set up the marital home from scratch. Hopefully couples will own their own cutlery. That said, consider this your opportunity to update some of the stuff you’ve been ‘making do’ with: ask for matching plates, a better mixer/blender. I would love a coffee maker but can never justify the expense.

Food and drink.

How about a bottle of champagne with a note to drink it on their first year anniversary? Or a box of chocolate, or luxury tins of tea. In the after wedding finance slump sweet treats will be well received!

In the bank.

Although giving money can seem a little impersonal starting off married life you usually need all the help you can get. You can also ask for chary donations or vouchers for websites or department stores.

What did you ask for as a wedding gift, or is there something that you would or would not want to receive? How much would you spend as a wedding guest?
