Heinz Let’s Cook Range For Babies, Toddlers & Busy Parents

Stir up mealtimes with Heinz for Baby Let’s Cook range!

Market favourite Heinz for Baby have 90 years’ experience of making baby food and know how important it is for parents to make sure their little ones get meals that are varied, affordable, and delicious. In July 2021 they launched a new range of home cooking ingredients named ‘Let’s Cook’, specially made for little ones and their parents looking to save time in the kitchen. Personally, I am most tired in the evening after a long day and often not motivated to make dinner!

Research by Heinz for Baby found that the pressure on British parents to cook homemade food can be so high that over a third have admitted to saying they had cooked something from scratch when they hadn’t. Save yourself pressure and unnecessary parental guilt! Thanks to Let’s Cook busy parents have all the help they need for meals that are ready in minutes.

Catering for a range of ages, Let’s Cook is ideal for parents of babies and toddlers aged 6 months and beyond (suitable to 3 years). Be reassured that Heinz for Baby know what the appropriate sizes and textures are for each stage of your child’s development i.e., when you can introduce lumps (7+) and bigger bits (10+). The website also has lots of helpful tips for when to introduce finger foods and ways to get fussy eaters to clean their plates.

Introducing NEW fun pasta shapes and yummy sauces!

The Let’s Cook range has a variety of playful food products to help parents make easy peasy meals that are ready in minutes (primarily these are suited for the ‘second stage’ of weaning and onwards). Featuring two tasty new pastas with three delicious sauces they are made for parents to mix and match. Whip up a delicious meal in two simple steps: pick a Let’s Cook Pasta and cook then stir the sauce into the freshly cooked pasta.

Tip: if you have a little one that is a tad picky add a spoonful at a time, so it is flavourful but not too saucy. Add extra veggies, extra protein (if needed – plain chicken is our go to) and a grating of cheese for a boost of calcium! Transfer to a bowl and check the temperature before serving to your little one.

The toddler taste test!

The Heinz Let’s Cook Little Shapes Pasta is made with soft wheat flour (fortified with added iron). Ready in just 4 minutes it is perfect for babies. Heinz Let’s Cook Animal Shapes Pasta is made with a blend of durum and wheat flours (plus that important added iron for healthy brain development). It is ready in just 9 minutes. Norah just loved pointing out bunnies in her dinner and she ate a good portion because she was enjoying the meal so much. I also like how they are perfectly bite size for encouraging toddlers to eat smaller pieces to avoid choking. We would love to see a wholemeal pack as the range grows! Note: not suitable for little ones with gluten or wheat intolerances.

The Heinz Let’s Cook! Bolognese Sauce is tomatoey but not overpowering (it counts as one of your babies 5 a day). It is also made with minced beef (so has slight texture) and vegetables with no added salt. Why not use it as a sweet potato curry base?  The Cheese sauce is smooth and creamy with no added sugar, use it in a mini lasagne and broccoli or macaroni cheese. Norah really enjoyed it with added peas. The Let’s Cook Tomato & Ricotta sauce counts as one of your baby’s five a day, again with no added salt. It contains Milk for allergy parents (clearly labelled on the packaging). Why not whip up a tomato risotto? Or for toddler parents use the tomato sauces on a wrap or bagel base for a mini pizza and add peppers, ham or whatever topping you like!

What I like about the range is that it is very convenient, and all the flavours went down well. None of the flavours are too overpowering – with a fussy eater I love this as you can always add foods you know to a meal. You can pop the jars in the fridge for 24 hours after opening. Do you have any time saving hacks? Why not make a larger pasta meal with a whole jar and use half to pack in a lunch box ready for nursery the next day? I look forward to seeing the products sell in multibuy deals. All sauces contain no artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives and the packaging, both jar and cardboard are recyclable. Packaging is simple and attractive with all the information you need at your fingertips. The reassuringly minimal ingredients list is clearly labelled as are the nutritional values.

The full Heinz for Baby Let’s Cook! range is on shelf in Asda and Tesco. Have you tried any of the Heinz Let’s Cook range? If so, what’s your little one’s favourite? I’d love to hear from you.
