Here’s Why Getting Married Abroad Is Easier to Plan Than in the UK

by Author: Jade Lloyd

There’s no denying that planning a wedding is a big deal. It’s undoubtedly one of the most significant projects you will ever have to manage, fund, and participate in during your time on this planet! It can also be a stressful and even scary prospect for some people.

Having said that, planning a wedding can also be a fun and stimulating experience. What’s more, if you plan to get married abroad, it can also offer many advantages over a UK wedding. Here’s why:

You Can Limit Your Guest List

There’s no getting away from the fact that weddings are expensive. If you have a wedding and invite dozens or hundreds of guests, you have to pay for their catering and even accommodation in some cases.

However, when you get married abroad, you can restrict your guest list to close family members and friends, making the event a more intimate and affordable one! It’s also a good excuse not to invite people in your life that you’d rather weren’t at your big day.

You Can Decide to Start a New Life Abroad

Did you know that many people don’t just get married abroad, but they stay overseas and decide to start a new life for themselves away from the UK? If you’re done with living in Britain and want a change of scenery, you can decide to start a new life abroad too.

It’s even better if the person you are marrying is already a citizen of the country where you wish to get married. For instance, suppose the person you want to make your future spouse is from the United States.

You could file a K1 visa application which is specifically for people that want to get married in the USA to an American citizen and live there permanently. Getting wed and staying abroad is an excellent way to start a fresh new chapter in your life and put to rest bad ones.

You Will Save Money

As strange as it might seem, you could potentially save thousands of pounds by getting married overseas. Why? The answer is simple: if you tie the knot in a country with a lower cost of living than the UK, your wedding expenses will be lower.

That means you would have more money put aside that you can spend towards your honeymoon, for example. Another way you could save money is by having fewer guests at your venue, as not everyone you invite would want to fly to another country.

Fewer guests mean lower catering bills, venue fees, and so forth. That’s even taking into account the cost of accommodation and flights, believe it or not!

You Can Hire a Local Wedding Planner

Lastly, while you can hire a wedding planner in the UK, it can often be cheaper and easier to do so overseas. As you can tell, there are many advantages to tying the knot overseas. If you want to get married soon, it’s definitely something you should consider.
