Top Three Things To Consider When Planning A Wedding

Are you planning a wedding?

Weddings are magical occasions. Not only is it the opportunity for two people in love to show their commitment to one another. It’s also it’s an opportunity for family, friends, and all manner of loved ones to gather together to laugh, dance, and share in a wonderful event.

Of course, putting together such an important event only adds to the pressure and stress of the planning process.

So many things can go wrong with such a complex and detailed affair that it’s understandable for you to start to freak out a little, whether it’s early on or late into the preparation of it all. If you’re struggling to put together the perfect wedding then here are some tips which might just help you to nail the whole thing.

The venue.

The venue is one of the most crucial parts of the wedding and you need to book a place well in advance. In fact, this should be the first thing you do because many of the most popular venues for weddings can be booked up for the first year or two in advance; the first available date you can find for the perfect wedding venue will probably be the determining factor in the date you set for your wedding.

The point is that you have to book in advance because you’re going to, most likely, have to work around whatever’s available.

You don’t have to go down the traditional route, remember. Churches are beautiful and symbolic buildings but a wedding can have just as much symbolism with other venues. You might even want to do an outdoor wedding if it’s taking place in the middle of summer or in an exotic location. You could look into marquee hire to provide some shelter for music, dancing, eating, and any other after-event ceremonies.

When it comes to the aesthetic of the wedding, outdoor ceremonies can sometimes be easier in that nature most of the decoration for you.

The clothing.

This mainly applies to the groom, bride, groomsmen, and bridesmaids. You should tell all your guests to dress smartly, of course, but you likely don’t have the time or organizational capacity to ensure that every individual guest dresses as you wish (you’ll just have to cross your fingers and hope that nobody tries to upstage the bride).

Whilst the wedding dress is one of the most integral parts to a perfect wedding day, you shouldn’t neglect the importance of the other most important item of clothing on this big day: the suit. You should ensure it’s a well-fitted suit because that tailor-made look will really ensure the wedding photos go down a treat. Don’t go for the business look, either; this is a wedding day and not a job interview.

The guests.

Last, but not least, remember the guests. It’s important that everybody has a good day at your wedding because it most likely means a lot to the bride and groom that their family and friends are just as happy to be there as they are. Greet each guest as they come into the venue and perhaps even give them a personalized basket or a funny name for each table; the ‘young’ table or the ‘quirky’ table, for example.
