NEXT Spring Outfit Wish List. Mummy Loves Trousers #Style #Fashion

Jungle Mummy Fashion (1)

I am NOT always on-trend.

Sometimes I am so off trend I am chic and sometimes I am trapped in 1999. Since gaining my ‘mummy’ title I have paid more attention to the brand of clothes I choose. Most of my money is spent on action figures so when I do splash out on something new for myself  I want clothes that will survive constant pulling, tugging and climbing, I want them to be practical yet stylish, well made and well fitted.

I initially fell in love with NEXT for their GORGEOUS children’s wear and then because the sizes are generous so they are one of the only retailers that I can still get into an eight without passing out.

Mummy win.

I am a laid back boho dresser, so enjoyed a wander through NEXT’s casual collection yesterday and stumbled upon some Trousers in the Masala collection that my legs instantly wanted to wear. (They were told we are paying for a fifth birthday party at present so they will have to wait.) I like buying clothes that I can imagine in a couple of outfits, gone are the rookie days of rush buying pink sequined dungarees and then realising I will never…ever…wear them.

Collage of clothes from NEXT all matching blue and purple colours. Outfit for Summer.

  1. Printed Tapered Trousers £22. All the comfort of pyjamas, flattering but with a beautiful understated pattern. Also I think very good value for money.
  2. Linen Mix Vest £10. Blue and Rust colours look good combined. Bold but complimentary. A loose fit top that will be a favourite for Summer.
  3. Half Placket Top £30. A ‘wear with anything in your wardrobe’ top, for work, over jeans, with shorts and flip flops…
  4. Wool Blend Waterfall Cardigan in Rust. Similar colour to the trousers which I would break up with the different block colour tops. When I wear colour I like to really, really wear it. £30.

Accessorise. Dress it up.

Oversized Scarf with Frayed Interest £16 (6). I am always cold so love that scarfs add more depth to an outfit and that I can snuggle up against the chilly spring wind in them. 8. Gold Tone Earrings £10 for a dash of glamour and to tie together the blue tones.

Footwear. Love your feet.

Weave Points sandals £45 (7). Stylish but comfortable when chasing round after the little ones. I am also a great boot lover so would dress the trousers up for an evening with some simple Western boots £45 (5).

So there you are my two outfits; heels with the white shirt and trousers for evening. I would throw in a black boyfriend jacket for warmth. Then don the sandals, trousers and blue top for the beach, with the waterfall cardigan and scarf as it is still the beach in April!

I want those trousers in my life.

I love Next clothing, I especially like the shirt and boots you’ve pictured.
